#1 Bloodhound Junior Handler
2008, 2009, 2010,2011

In Spring of 2008, I was approached by a friend looking for a Juniors dog for her 9 year old daughter.  The daughter, Taylor, had just earned her final win in Novice, which meant she would moving into the more competitive Open division.  Taylor had been showing her mother's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but the time had come for her to acquire a more challenging dog. Neither of us had any idea as to the magnitude of the journey on which we were about to embark.

I offered her Hermie, as I felt he would be a good dog for a child to learn with.  He is patient, loving, and willing to please, all very valuable traits when working with a child. Within a few weeks the bond was forming, and a short time later the new team entered the ring.

By Fall Taylor had earned her 2008 invitation to Eukanuba.  She finished 2008 as the #1 Bloodhound Junior Handler, and as they say, the rest is history!

Taylor has recently aged up into the Open Intermediate class. This has been accompanied by another big change, Hermie's retirement. Taylor enjoyed her final time with him at the 2010 American Bloodhound Club National Specialty in Georgia. Taylor and Hermie have had a wonderful journey together, but all good things must come to an end. I am sure she will be as successful with her new puppy, Ranger.  Watch for them in a ring near you!
